Let’s think differently about what therapy needs to be for you.

Meet Colleen Crane, MSW, LMSW, solution-focused therapist in Farmington Hills & across Michigan.

You’re ready for something to change, but the question is… what?

You’re so busy putting everyone else before yourself that it’s becoming difficult to even identify where their needs end and yours begin. While others might look at your life and think you “have it all,” you can’t stop the nagging fear that the next shoe is going to drop—and the success you’ve maintained up until now will suddenly end.

Maybe you’ve done the therapy thing before and felt like your therapist wasn’t comfortable getting into the “real” stuff with you or like you were the only one doing the talking. Here, no topic is off the table—sex, finances, relationships, you name it—and I view myself as an active partner with you in this work. The only way we’ll get where you want to go is if we are both engaged in and committed to this process.

It’s okay not to have all the answers right now.

How I work

You'll find that I'm not your typical therapist—I'm eclectic in my methods and straightforward in my approach.

I believe in your ability to face your challenges head-on and find the answers and fulfillment you’ve been searching for. It’s important to me to provide a safe, encouraging space for you to work through all the feelings related to your relationships, past experiences, stresses, and goals. Here, we’ll focus not only on building your belief and confidence in yourself but finding the strength to confidently voice your own needs in every area of life.

My focus is all about finding real solutions to your challenges by tapping into your own intuition and learning how to step into your best self. I'm here to support you on every step of your journey with honesty, empathy, and practical skills & direction. My hope is that through our work together, you’ll learn that you don’t have to rely on me or others as much—you know yourself best, and you’ll find that inner voice actually can be trusted. As you take what you learn here and put it into practice, you'll feel engaged, empowered, and ready to take charge of your life.

Solution-focused: what’s that?

Here’s the thing: therapy is just one piece of your journey. It isn’t meant to last forever.

My approach to therapy isn’t just about talking about feelings or looking at your past: it’s about finding real, practical solutions that apply to your life now. This means we'll work together to set clear goals and figure out what steps you can take to reach them. As we move on from your past and focus on the future with hope, we’ll discover your strengths and successes and build on what's already working for you.
